The NSIS Erasmus+ Project — “Developing Information, Research and Digital Skills for Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal” — officially launched with its Kick-Off Meeting held in the vibrant city of Kathmandu, Nepal, from March 9th to 14th, 2025.

This foundational meeting brought together representatives from all partner institutions across India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Ireland, Romania, and Germany, marking the start of an ambitious collaboration to modernise information services and specialist training across South Asia.

A Week of Collaboration and Strategic Planning

Four days were dedicated to intensive meetings, strategic planning, and consortium-building activities. Two representatives from each partner institution attended the sessions, hosted by the local Nepalese partners in Kathmandu.

Key discussion points included:

  • Reviewing the project’s objectives, activities, and expected outcomes.

  • Clarifying partner roles and responsibilities based on the original project application and signed Grant Agreement.

  • Exploring timelines for curriculum development, training modules, and the launch of the NSIS Online Learning Platform.

  • Setting up internal management structures, including the Project Management Committee and Working Groups.

  • Establishing communication channels and workflows for reporting and collaboration.

The Kick-Off Meeting not only set the administrative and strategic foundations for the NSIS project, but also reaffirmed the shared commitment among partners to improving digital, research, and transferable skills in South Asian higher education systems.

This successful launch paves the way for the collaborative development of the NSIS Modular Curriculum, as well as upcoming events such as training sessions, pilot testing, and the first National Awareness Days in 2026.

We thank our hosts in Nepal for their warm hospitality and excellent organisation — and we look forward to sharing regular updates as the project unfolds.

Stay tuned for more news on the NSIS website and social media channels!
