Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed to be University), established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, is a premier institution in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Since its inception in 1988, the university has been committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.

Dr. T. Sasipraba is an accomplished academician and researcher with a Doctorate in Computer Science and Engineering, who began her journey with Sathyabama in 1995 as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Demonstrating excellence, dedication, and visionary leadership, she rose through the ranks to become the Vice Chancellor of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology in 2020 — marking three decades of outstanding service to the institution.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Sasipraba has held several significant academic and administrative positions, including Professor and Head of the Department of Information Technology, Dean – Publications and Conferences, Dean – Research and Development, and Pro Vice Chancellor.

A recipient of numerous national and international research grants, she has successfully led projects funded by prestigious agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST), AICTE, ISRO, the Ministry of Education (MoE), and the European Union.

She currently serves as the Project Coordinator for the international collaborative project titled “Developing Information, Research and Digital Skills for Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal (NSIS)”, funded by the European Union.

Renowned for her strategic vision, research acumen, and innovative leadership, Dr. Sasipraba has been a driving force behind many of the university’s transformative initiatives, fostering a vibrant ecosystem for research, innovation, and academic excellence at Sathyabama.
